The SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser Brixental ski resort
http://www.skiwelt.at/en/skiwelt-wilder-kaiser-brixental-ski-resort.html
One of the largest and most modern ski resorts in the world
SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser-Brixental is one of the largest and most modern ski resorts in the world. Unique: 9 villages provide direct access for you to enjoy more than 284 kilometres of ski runs, perfectly prepared every day, as well as 21 downhills.
WOW! SO MUCH FUN Whether beginner or family, skiing just for pleasure or a serious and experienced skier, everyone can have so much more fun at SkiWelt.
There are also 90 modern lifts for skiers to use, and panoramic views of more than 70 mountains of 3,000 m or more to enjoy, plus the ALPENIGLU® Village, 4 fun parks, exhilarating ski runs, 3 floodlit toboggan runs as well as Austria’s largest night time ski resort.
Welcome to Brixen im Thale, Ellmau, Going, Hopfgarten, Itter, Kelchsau, Scheffau, Söll and Westendorf.
The ski resort SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser-Brixental is located in the Wilder Kaiser Region (Austria, Tyrol (Tirol), Tiroler Unterland) and in the Brixental (Austria, Tyrol (Tirol), Tiroler Unterland, Kitzbüheler Alpen). The winter sports area is situated between the elevations of 620 and 1,957 m.
The SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser Brixental ski resort is one of the largest interconnected winter sports areas in the eastern Alps and Austria. In addition, the ski resort in the Kitzbühel Alps is impressively versatile.
The SkiWelt score points with excellent accessibility, numerous children’s areas, Tyrolean charm in mountain huts with gorgeous panoramic views and the highlight – the Alpeniglu-Dorf (Alpine Igloo Village). Skiers of all ability levels will find their slopes here, whereby some very challenging slopes and off-piste opportunities can be found on the Hohen Salve. Multiple funparks and adventure slopes, floodlit toboggan runs and a large night skiing area offer variety. The ski resort stretches across the villages of Söll, Scheffau, Ellmau, Going, Brixen im Thale, Westendorf, Hopfgarten and Itter.
AprèSki in Söll
Söll is not as raucous as it used to be, but it’s still very lively and a lot of places have live music. At teatime bars such as Moonlight and Hexenalm, close to the gondola base, are lively. So too is Salvenstadl (Cow Shed) on the edge of the village, recommended by a recent reporter. The Red Horse Pub is a ‘great, lively, atmospheric bar’.
Later on, the large, central Whisky-Mühle disco can get wild, especially after the bars close. The hotel Austria bar has been recommended by a past reporter. Rossini is good for cocktails and live music.
Off the slopes
There are two toboggan runs (4km and 3km) from the top of the gondola. Both are floodlit on Wednesday to Saturday, one until 10.30pm, the other until 2am. The large baroque church is worth a visit. Coach excursions go to Salzburg, Innsbruck and even Vipiteno, in Italy.

A Cultural Day in Kufstein

Accessible by funicular or a steep walkway, the fortress is the town’s foremost attraction, and for good reason. The museum within offers not only eye-opening historical insights, but a stunning view over the town and nearby mountains.
Not to be missed is the Heldenorgel organ, housed deep in one of the fortress’s massive towers. With its 4.948 pipes and 46 registers it’s the largest open-air organ in the world. Every day at noon the sound of this remarkable instrument is heard for miles.
Kufstein is also home to Riedel Glass, one of Tirol’s most prominent design brands and possibly the world’s most respected wine glass company. Run by the same family since 1756, Riedel Glass invites visitors to witness its traditional glassblowing craftsmanship five days a week. Check here for Riedel Glass factory tours and factory store information.
For travelers looking for a truly memorable bar experience, Stollen 1930 is a popular local institution, reminiscent of a 1930s speakeasy and built right into the mountain.
